For more than 10 years, I have been working in my private consulting office as a professional Counsellor,
assisting all those who wish to develop forms of empowerment to tackle particularly significant phases
and critical junctures in their lives, from a perspective of self-respect and adherence to one’s values,
and in relation to others and the environment -
this is a part of my work that I deeply love.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is considered an intellectual profession under the law of 14 January 2013, no. 4 (Provisions regarding unregulated professions).
Counselling intervenes with individuals, couples, families, and groups, to facilitate their overcoming of difficult life phases, for contingent and specific issues.
Counselling aims to reactivate the resources and potential within each person, enhancing the client's ability for self-determination and decision-making.
By its nature, Counselling is a targeted and brief intervention. It is not a form of therapy (medical or psychological) nor psychological support.
Counselling is a journey of growth, learning how to take responsibility, and empowerment, during which we are supported by a professional, the counsellor, who guides us towards discovering a different future.
The counsellor does not provide medical or psychological treatment, nor does the counsellor make diagnoses.
In his/her relationship with the client, the counsellor, through professional use of communication, facilitates awareness of personal resources and the possibility of "assigning different meanings" to difficulties, and guiding decision-making processes that concern the individual.
When might Counselling be beneficial?
In life, we can find ourselves in difficult moments that,
even though they are part of "everyday living" they present us with choices.
Typically, these moments
are connected to periods of transition, such as: personal, familial, educational, or professional.
Change is never painless, and the challenges, if listened to, are the strongest signals that something within us is changing.
Counselling can assist when you want to:
Enhance and improve communication skills
Manage phases of change and tackle life events
Make a difficult decision concerning personal or professional life
Reorganise one's family relationships in light of complex situations such as: adolescence, separation, family restructuring, illnesses, births, etc.
Address difficulties in the educational journey (for example, obstacles in choosing a university or in taking exams)
Identify one's desires and needs and outline the corresponding life path.
A Counselling journey is based on well-defined objectives.
A Counselling journey is
characterised by being time-limited.
Counselling sessions cater to the individual, the couple, the family,
or can be group-based:
homogeneous groups consist of individuals united by the same exploration needs or within specific themes;
heterogeneous groups comprise individuals working within the same organisational context (interdisciplinary teams).
I am a professional within the scope of the Legge 14 gennaio 2013, n. 4
(Disposizioni in materia di professioni non organizzate).
